Put together a hen weekend with time to talk, a little pampering and a meal worth dressing up for. Consider The Pictureworks for its private spa and open-plan social spaces, or Vedalworks for its private bar and single-level layout. Check bed arrangements and dining capacity for the whole group. Choose the sleeping arrangements before splitting the cost. If you would like a chef or treatments, agree the date and group size with the supplier early. Activities and extra visitors must be agreed with Little Upton in advance. ## Milestone birthdays Page: https://littleupton.co.uk/celebrations/birthdays Make room for a proper celebration. A shared meal, a few well-chosen plans and a weekend with the people who know you best. Upton Bourn Lodge brings the group together in its double-height dining room. The Pictureworks pairs a long table that seats everyone with a private spa. Tell us how you want to eat and we will help you plan the meal. Work out who is staying and who needs which bed. Tell us about any proposed daytime visitors before booking; written permission is required. Ask a private chef about menus, dietary needs and full costs. ## Friends’ reunions Page: https://littleupton.co.uk/celebrations/reunions Get the date out of the group chat and into the diary. Cook together, settle in for a game and make time for the conversations that never fit into a quick catch-up. Vedalworks offers a private bar and large screen for evenings in. Upton Bourn Lodge has a separate games room and seasonal private pool. Both offer flexible bed layouts to discuss before arrival. Agree guest numbers and budgets first. Plan one shared meal, then leave some time free. School-holiday and midweek dates may suit your group; each house page shows live availability and prices. ## Family gatherings Page: https://littleupton.co.uk/celebrations/family-gatherings Breakfasts together, garden time and a little space for everyone to do their own thing. Bring the generations together without expecting them all to keep the same pace. The Threshing Barn spreads eight bedrooms across three buildings, giving families separate spaces. Vedalworks is described as single-level with a wet room. Discuss individual accessibility needs, rather than assuming a house will suit everyone. Ask for a room plan and check bathroom access. Children need supervision around pools and hot tubs. Tell us if you need a high chair, cot or other equipment, and confirm what is available before booking. ## Stag weekends Page: https://littleupton.co.uk/celebrations/stag-weekends His favourite people, a proper dinner and a little friendly competition. Bring everyone together for a stag weekend with games, good food and time to catch up — in a house that suits your group. Start with how you want to spend the weekend. Vedalworks brings the group together around its bar and games, while Upton Bourn Lodge pairs a separate games room with a dining room for a proper shared meal. The Pictureworks suits a spa-and-games stay; The Threshing Barn offers a country setting with bedrooms across three barns. All four houses have their own hot tub and sauna; pool access is seasonal and differs by house. Agree your guest list, bed arrangements and budget first, then check live dates and total prices. Build the weekend around one shared meal and an activity: a private chef, archery, laser shooting or cider tasting can be arranged separately as paid extras, subject to supplier availability. Two pubs are within a mile and Harry’s Cider is 500m away. Tell us about planned activities and any extra visitors before booking; written permission is required for additional visitors. ## Private chefs & catering Page: https://littleupton.co.uk/en/private-chefs Good food is the heart of a good gathering. There’s a Friday market and a fourth-Saturday market — check dates and trading times before you plan around them. ### Langport vintage market The vintage and antiques market sets up by the entrance to Cocklemoor car park on the second Saturday of the month, weather permitting — worth checking the schedule locally before you travel. ## Local walks from Little Upton Page: https://littleupton.co.uk/en/local-walking-routes Walks straight from the gate: our field on the Parrett, circular pub routes, Harry’s Cider and the farm shops — with our own map to take with you. Paths can be muddy or uneven, and the lanes don’t always have pavements. Tell us your group and what you’re hoping for and we’ll suggest a route — including where dogs are welcome. Please shut gates, respect livestock and take your litter home. ### Our walks & places map Our map marks the field, the nearby pubs, Harry’s Cider and the farm shops. Take it with you, and check conditions before you set out. - [Open Little Upton Walks & Places](https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1OxhrTdHyfiSUE0fLhm6LZRDM5SGz5VU) ### Walk to our field Our field sits on the Somerset Levels with the River Parrett at one end and open fields all round. You’re welcome to walk through it or take a picnic — deer, rabbits and butterflies are often out. Please take your litter home, and check access with us first. ### A pub along the way The map shows the nearby pubs and the circular routes between them. Pick one that suits your group, and check the kitchen is serving before you make it the lunch stop. ### Cider & farm shops Walk over to Harry’s Cider for a bottle of something local, or plan a stop at the farm shops on the way back. Check they’re open, and bring a bag. ## Cycling the Somerset Levels Page: https://littleupton.co.uk/en/local-cycle-route The Apples and Countryside loop round Langport, Muchelney, Long Sutton and Pitney, with the local route map and the people who’ll sort out your bikes. This is the local cycling leaflet rather than a live navigation service, and the map isn’t to scale. Check road conditions, opening times and how far everyone rides comfortably before you set off. ### Apples and Countryside tour The circular route starts at Parrett Trail Bikes in Langport and takes in Muchelney, Long Load, Long Sutton, Upton, Pitney and Wearne before returning beside the River Parrett. The leaflet carries the directions and the food stops. Start with your guest list and dates, then compare the sleeping arrangements, indoor dining and social spaces. Little Upton’s four houses are in Long Sutton, near Langport, Somerset. ### What to check before booking Check bedroom and bathroom arrangements, the table size for a meal together, and which facilities belong to your house. Private hot tubs and saunas are offered across the houses; pool access and seasonality vary. Do not assume a house’s sleeping capacity also describes its dining table. ### A weekend with room to breathe Keep arrival night simple: supper, a drink and time to catch up. Leave Saturday morning open for breakfast, a walk or the house’s facilities. A catered dinner can make the birthday meal feel different without everyone leaving the house. Sunday can be a slow breakfast before the 10am checkout. ### Add a chef or treatment if you fancy it Private chefs, catering and treatments are optional paid extras. Agree menus, dietary needs, timing, costs and cancellation terms directly with the provider. External suppliers and additional visitors need prior agreement with Little Upton. ### Travelling from London Approximately 2.5 hours from London by car, depending on your starting point and traffic. Check your route for your travel dates. The nearest railway stations are Yeovil Junction (about 25 minutes by car), Castle Cary (about 20 minutes) and Taunton (about 30 minutes). Arrange onward taxis ahead of time, especially for a large group. ### Keep the celebration within the house rules Keep music and noise inside the house after 10pm; quiet hours 10pm–8am apply outdoors. Hot tubs close at 10pm. The lead guest must be at least 28 unless agreed in advance. Additional visitors need our written agreement. Plan the birthday around the people staying, rather than an open event. ## Planning a hen weekend in Somerset Page: https://littleupton.co.uk/en/blog/luxury-hen-party-houses-near-london-for-an-unforgettable-weekend Plan a Little Upton hen weekend in Long Sutton, Somerset, with clear sleeping plans, property-specific pools, catering and group travel. ### Choose a house that fits the whole group Start with guest numbers, budgets and dates. Ask who needs a particular bed arrangement or accessible bathroom, then compare the four Little Upton houses. A clear plan before booking helps everyone know what they are committing to. ### Know which spaces are private The accommodation is booked for your group, but facilities differ. Each house has its own hot tub and sauna. The Pictureworks, Upton Bourn Lodge and Vedalworks have dedicated seasonal pools; the walled-garden pool has shared access with reserved private sessions. Confirm arrangements for your chosen house and dates. ### Meals together, without a packed timetable A grazing supper on arrival, breakfast together and one planned dinner can be enough. Check the house’s indoor dining capacity and agree how food will be organised. Leave time for talking, games and a local walk rather than filling every hour. ### Bookable extras Our supplier directory includes private chefs, cocktail-making, treatments, life drawing and dance sessions. These are not included in the accommodation price. Ask about ages, space, minimum bookings and cancellation terms; agree visiting suppliers with Little Upton before confirming. ### Travel and transport Approximately 2.5 hours from London by car, depending on your starting point and traffic. Check your route for your travel dates. The nearest railway stations are Yeovil Junction (about 25 minutes by car), Castle Cary (about 20 minutes) and Taunton (about 30 minutes). Book station transfers and any return taxis before the weekend, especially for a large group. ### A celebration that respects the setting Quiet hours run from 10pm to 8am, and hot tubs close at 10pm. Unauthorised parties, outdoor music during quiet hours and unapproved visitors are not allowed. The lead guest must be 28 or older unless agreed in advance. ## Terms & conditions of booking Page: https://littleupton.co.uk/en/tandc Little Upton booking conditions, payments, cancellation, guest rules, quiet hours and swimming pool, hot tub and fire safety guidance.
