“The Threshing Barn was a beautiful big space, with plenty of room for us all. We had 12 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs and there was plenty of room. We had plenty of info before the day, so we could book in activities/food. The games area was lovely and so was the swimming pool, we wish we had more time available to us in the pool. But the advert is clear that it is a shared pool. Most things around you needed to drive to including the local shop, we knew this ahead of time and it was only a short drive away. We had some Thai caterers come in, which was recommended by gill. This was a highlight for us. I would recommend staying here as a big group. It catered to us of all ages.”

“Fantastic family stay for a 70th birthday. Thoroughly enjoyed the week away, we had quite a few family members with bad knees/ankles due to illness or injury and it was quite tricky to navigate around the property as there were quite a few steps and some fairly steep but we managed! Lots to do, we particularly loved the games room, boules, pool and sauna. Lovely treat! We walked down to Harry’s cider as well as having a family meal at the Devonshire Arms which is a gorgeous up market pub. Thanks to the hosts!”

“This has to be one of best places we’ve ever stayed.. particularly in terms of our multigenerational family group of 16 with 5 kids and 5 couples.. the layout with the 3 separate Barns was just perfect, everyone had their own space but were also super close and right beside the games room and the pool. The main barn is so well set up for large groups with 2 dishwashers and 2 fridges which just made life so easy for us! We used one of the recommended caterers, The Kitchen Gardens Somerset, and has a fantastic Italian sharing supper delivered one night, which was superb. The kids had the best time of their lives on and out of the pool and hot tub, the boys loved the pool and table tennis, we were so well catered for! We did a couple of recommended external activities, the Go Karting and Alpacas walking which were both hugely successful.. and we all did the orchard tour/cider tasting at Harry’s next door which was well worth doing. Looking at when we can come again!”

It was the extra attention that George gave when he let us know several times that we could extend our session in the swimming pool, if other guests weren't using it. There was loads of crockery and cutlery, so even when the dishwashers were on, there was plenty of stuff to use. It was all generous! We all felt cared for and loved our stay. “Great host. What a lovely place for family get together. It was very hot during our stay and the pool was a godsend. We used the gas BBQ and the children loved the karaoke! Although hot through the day the converted barns remained cool at night, with one having the bonus of air conditioning. We went out through the day, would recommend the boat trip from Langport. The Lime Kiln was an amazing restaurant. We used local butchers for meat for BBQ and had Indian takeout. All in all a very enjoyable family break. Would highly recommend.”

“I have had several exchanges of messages with Gill and later with George over the last two years and both were very caring. We were welcomed into Threshing Barn with a delicious cream tea on our arrival - much appreciated! The accommodation spread over three barns, and the garden setting, for our family get together of 17 (including 7 children and 1 baby) was exceptional. All three of them so beautifully furnished and equipped, so very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The numerous onsite activities available for our age groups were all brilliant and fully occupied our older boys including our favourite, the very generously sized beautiful heated pool with such lovely furniture around it. We all had a wonderful stay and will be recommending The Threshing Barn to all our family and friends. We would love to return one day. Thank you!”

“We stayed for 4 nights and were a family group of 14 adults, 4 children and an infant. George was most helpful in arranging room configurations to suit our group. With a bit of juggling we managed to fit 7 cars in the parking area. The photos are a true reflection of accommodation and facilities. The Hosts laid on a welcoming pack of scones, jam, cream and tea. The games and pool times were a big hit with the children and adults and even in a heatwave we enjoyed the jacuzzi and sauna. There are plenty of local attractions and nearby Langport has a Tesco making stocking up on food and beverages easy. We would certainly book a future family get-together at the Threshing Barns.”

“Our group of 14 had a lovely time, enjoying the great number of amenities, meaning everyone always had something to do and an easy way to relax after exploring the local area. We particularly enjoyed the farm shop next door, Harry's Cider which was just a short walk away, and Haynes Motor Museum that was far bigger and more diverse than expected. Naturally, given the great weather, we spent the majority of our time in the garden. The extendable shade on the back of the house covering the decked area came in handy to provide some respite from the sun. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well equipped. The only downside was the number of flies - we bought some sticky fly traps in Somerton not too far away to combat them. Nothing much the hosts could do, just one of those things given the location (farmland and orchards) and the extended period of hot weather we've had recently. All-in-all, we would highly recommend staying here. Thanks Gill”

The only thing that slightly let it down was the number of flies in the kitchen, we think that more sticky strips might help but then again it might just be because of the weather and the age of the building. The pool was amazing, and we felt like we were abroad on holiday. The rooms were decorated really nicely and overall we loved our stay. Would definitely stay again!”

“We stayed here for a hen do and were a range of ages. We wanted somewhere where we could all relax and unwind with beautiful scenery and great amenities and this was absolutely perfect! We had so much fun in the swimming pool and hot tub and there was lots of lawn space for Yoga. Gill and George were so responsive and have created an amazing pack of recommended activities and caterers etc which we used for most of the activities that we did. The kitchen was so well equipped and the recommended caterer was unbelievable! This air bnb was everything we wanted and more and I would 10000% recommend it to anyone and everyone!”

“Party of 9 - we had 3 of the farm buildings, including the main Threshing Barn. Absolutely beautiful surroundings which made it private as well as relaxing. We used all the facilities, particularly loved the pool which we had to ourselves for particular timed slots - preferred this arrangement to sharing. We were a mixture of ages so having the jacuzzi, pool table, darts, football table and table tennis worked really well. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and all in good condition - beds/duvets super comfy. The recommendations worked really well - we had private dining at the house from a local catering team (thekitchengardensomerset) and a trip along the local river on a community owned boat you can hire (Duchess Of Cocklemoor) .. really recommend both. Will definitely be visiting again!”
