Light-filled living and dining spaces open to the garden, with a bespoke cocktail bar for catching up and a cinema room for settling in. Very clean, well stocked with plenty of crockery, glasses etc. Some helpful items were left in the kitchen such as oil, salt & pepper, tinfoil. All very useful! The pool was great, plenty of seating around the pool and the pool itself was a good size. A welcome relief from the heatwave. Fans were also put in the bedrooms and an air con unit in the main living space. Very thoughtful. I'm not sure how we would have slept without fans in the middle of a heatwave. The surrounding area was lovely and quiet, even though other families were in accommodation close by, we rarely heard them, or saw them for that matter. I'd definitely recommend this property of you are looking for a family getaway. We had a group of 15 ranging from age 7 - 72. Something for everyone here. Communication was great. We were provided with detailed information in plenty of time for our stay and any questions we had were promptly answered. Thanks so much!”

Is Vedalworks step-free?+
Yes. It is single level with no steps anywhere, including between the house and the pool and hot tub. There is a wheelchair-friendly wet room and disabled parking.
Can we use Vedalworks for a corporate retreat?+
Yes. Vedalworks has superfast Starlink Wi-Fi, a large conference-style table and a cinema room that can be used for presentations. Tell us how you’d like to use the space and what equipment you’re bringing before booking, so we can talk it through together. We don’t quote measured Wi-Fi speeds or a separate meeting capacity.
Does Vedalworks have a private pool?+
Yes. Its own heated outdoor pool, new in 2026, is open May–September. It does not share the walled-garden pool.
Can everyone eat together?+
Yes. The indoor table seats up to 24, so the whole group can eat together.
What is there to do in the evening?+
A cocktail bar, a cinema and karaoke room with a 7ft Smart TV, SONOS sound, a pool table, table football, table tennis and board games. The hot tub closes at 10pm. Quiet hours ask you to keep outdoor noise down after 10pm — music and karaoke inside are still welcome.
Are all the bedrooms ensuite?+
Almost — there are six bathrooms across the seven bedrooms, with two bedrooms sharing an ensuite. Beds are set up as super-kings or singles.
What if we are more than 20 guests?+
Groups of more than 20 are welcome to book direct online, up to the house’s maximum. Your price is quoted live for your exact guest number, so the total you see when you search is the price for your group.
Can we bring a dog?+
Yes. Dogs are welcome at Vedalworks — tell us before you book so we can prepare. Please keep your dog with you, and keep bedrooms, furniture and pool areas dog-free.
What time is check-in and check-out?+
Check-in from 4pm; check-out by 10am. Someone will be here to welcome you when you arrive and to help with anything you need. If you don’t need us, you won’t see us.
How do we get here from London?+
Approximately 2.5 hours from London by car, depending on your starting point and traffic. Check your route for your travel dates. A Berrys coach from London stops about five minutes from Little Upton. The nearest railway stations are Yeovil Junction (about 25 minutes by car), Castle Cary (about 20 minutes) and Taunton (about 30 minutes).
What is the payment schedule?+
10% of the total is due when you book, a further 40% 120 days before arrival, and the balance 60 days before arrival. Payments made are non-refundable.
Are hen weekends and big birthdays welcome?+
Yes. Hen weekends, milestone birthdays, reunions and family gatherings are what the houses are for. Outdoor quiet hours run 10pm–8am and hot tubs close at 10pm; music and celebrating inside the house are welcome after 10pm. Tell us about your plans before booking. Extra visitors need our written agreement, and unauthorised parties aren’t allowed.
Can everyone eat together, and can we hire a private chef?+
Yes. Every house seats the whole group together indoors. For a night off cooking, choose a private chef or caterer from our vetted local list; chefs are a paid extra, booked with the supplier.
