Wedding guests, welcome · Long Sutton, Somerset

Wedding Accommodation in Somerset

The wedding is elsewhere. The time together starts here. Bring family and friends to one or more of our four holiday houses in Long Sutton, near Langport, in the rural Somerset Levels. Each sleeps 18–24, with room to settle in before the big day and catch up afterwards. Little Upton is your place to stay, not the venue for your ceremony or wedding reception.

For the organiser

4 houses fit a group of 18

House fit only — availability and prices are checked live for your dates. Hot tubs close at 10pm.

A little less organising. A little more time together.

Sort the rooms first

Use the individual-bed counts above to plan who shares and who needs a single. The Threshing Barn’s bedrooms are spread across three barns; the other houses bring your group into one building. Think about couples, families and anyone who needs easier access. If you need more than one house, send us your guest list and wedding date so we can help you work out the options.

Make meals the easy part

The kitchens are equipped for cooking for a big group, and each house has an indoor table for everyone staying there. Bring your groceries for an easy supper and breakfast, or book a private chef or caterer as a paid extra for a meal during your stay. Your wedding reception takes place at your chosen venue elsewhere.

Check the bathroom arrangements

The Pictureworks has 5.5 bathrooms; Upton Bourn Lodge has 5.5 bathrooms; The Threshing Barn has 6.5 bathrooms; Vedalworks has 6 bathrooms. Check the house details for shared bathrooms and bedroom access rather than assuming every room is ensuite.

A few practical things to know

Start with the wedding venue address and your guest list. Check the journey from Long Sutton, then arrange outward and return transport directly with a taxi or minibus provider. If you are booking several houses, check each one for the same dates before committing; there is no combined booking or shared reception space.

Supplier services are optional paid extras, booked separately and subject to availability. Agree visiting providers and any activities at your house with us before confirming.

Let someone else cook

An easy meal the night before means less to organise. Our local private chefs and caterers can help with menus and dietary needs for the people staying in your house.

Plan the journey together

Share the venue address, ceremony time and return plans with your group. Ask local taxis and minibuses about availability and costs early, especially if you need several vehicles.

Make time to unwind

Each house has a private hot tub and sauna for a quiet moment before or after the wedding day. Pool access varies by house and season; hot tubs close at 10pm.

Stay a little longer

If your dates allow, leave time for a walk, a pub meal or a wander around Langport. All four houses share the same Long Sutton location, so your group starts from the same place.

The wedding day

Off to the celebrations

Breakfast at your house, time to get ready and then travel to your wedding venue. The ceremony and reception take place elsewhere. On your return, keep outdoor arrivals quiet for neighbours and other guests.

After the wedding

One more catch-up

Share breakfast and the stories from the day before. Check out by 10am on your departure day, or choose a longer stay when you book if you would like more time together.

Early check-in from 2pm or late check-out until midday may be arranged for a fee, subject to availability. Standard arrival is 16:00 and departure is 10:00.

  • “We stayed for a family wedding/honeymoon celebrations over a 4 day weekend and this was absolutely perfect! Clean plenty to do at the venue, pool was good, pool table, big space outside where we played small games, boards games available every in our family had a great time! George was very welcoming and gave us all the information and both George and Gill respond in good time to messages and very helpful! Best weekend away, we stayed at the picture works and I highly recommend it!!! Brilliant!!! Thank you”

  • “Our wedding party of 17 stayed at threshing barn for my daughters wedding. The accommodation was perfect. It was clean, spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. Gill was very helpful with supplying an extra bed and linen. The scones on our arrival were much appreciated. The hot tub and the pool were lovely. It couldn't have been better. Thank you very much from us all.”

  • “We celebrated our ruby wedding anniversary at Vedalworks with a family weekend at the end of March. The facilities and space were ideal for different ages, with the hot tub and the gigantic TV ideal for the younger ones, whilst the “oldies” were able to sit and chat in groups, as well as going for walks and visiting the car meet at the farm next door. 22 people for our main meal were easily accommodated, and the two fridges and two dishwashers were invaluable - everyone was most impressed with the house. The only disappointment was that we were informed rather late in the day that there was a parking limit of only 6 cars; the village car park, which we were told to use, is a mile away, and we had to run a shuttle service by the volunteer who had agreed not to drink until later. We had a lovely and memorable weekend for our celebration and were blessed with gorgeous spring weather.”

Wedding accommodation questions, answered.

Can we get married or hold our wedding reception at Little Upton?+

Little Upton is somewhere for your wedding guests to stay, rather than a wedding venue. Your ceremony and wedding reception take place elsewhere; come back to your chosen house after the celebrations.

Can we book more than one house for wedding guests?+

Yes. You can book one or more of our four houses on the same site, depending on availability. Ask us about your date and guest list so we can help you choose a combination. Each house has its own capacity and live price; booking several houses does not include a shared reception space or exclusive use of the whole site.

How many wedding guests can stay in each house?+

The Pictureworks sleeps up to 22; Upton Bourn Lodge sleeps up to 23; The Threshing Barn sleeps up to 18; Vedalworks sleeps up to 24. Check the room layouts and maximum individual-bed counts before deciding who shares.

Where in Somerset is Little Upton?+

Our four houses are together at Little Upton Bridge Farm, Long Sutton, near Langport, Somerset TA10 9NJ, in the rural Somerset Levels area. Check the journey to your chosen wedding venue before booking; we do not promise a transfer time to an unnamed venue.

Can we arrange transport to our wedding venue?+

Our local taxi and minibus guide is a useful starting point. Contact the providers directly to check availability, passenger numbers, your venue address and the return journey. Transport is not included with your accommodation.

Standard check-in is 16:00 and check-out is 10:00. Early check-in from 2pm or late check-out until midday may be possible for a fee. Please ask before relying on either; arriving the day before gives you time to settle in without depending on an early arrival.

Which house should we choose for guests with mobility needs?+

Vedalworks is step-free and has a wet room; Upton Bourn Lodge has three ground-floor bedrooms. Tell us about individual needs before booking so we can talk through bedrooms, bathrooms and access together.

Can we have visiting suppliers or extra guests at the house?+

Tell us about any visiting suppliers or guests before you book so we can agree what works for your house. Your booking is for accommodation, not a wedding ceremony or reception, and the usual house rules still apply.
